I went to Granville Island to buy acrylic paints recently. I had the best time, it was amazing. The paints were from a store called Kroma - and the reason why
I wanted to go all the way down in granville island was because it was local and they were of amazing quality. They made all their paints in vancouver and used 100% pigments. Anyways, as I veered away from the average acrylic paints and towards good quality professional grade paints I started changing the way i painted. From abstract to more impressionistic/realistic. These two paintings are ones that I have done in back to back days and they will always remind me of that awesome trip to granville island. It was fun talking to all the locals, like that oil painter who did these really cute 3'3 square canvases of coke cans and fruit. It was amazing and it was nice talking to her. And even of all the cool desserts in the display cases and the gnocci with the amazing sauces at this one pasta place. or even the cool yogurt options they had. haha.
