Juxtoposition of seasons and colours

Trees. Why do I sketch, paint and create trees? I don't really know or fully understand. I remember my mom teaching me how to draw trees and being absolutely facinated by the ease of her style. Looking back, it wasn't much more than a succession of "v's" layered into a branch like structure but it was the first thing I learned to draw. I guess I can say I have this weird fascination with trees... the kind where one could write a cheesy english essay, complete with every relatable symbolism applicable, with ease and pleasure. Anyways, here is a collection that is very dear to my heart. My mom loved to work with glitter and I remember one day in particular when I was gripping onto the work table to see what she was making. All I remember is this big bottle of gold glitter shaking onto a weaved mixed media art piece. This collection sums me up as an artist. It is bold, colourful, cheery, an element of darkness with a touch of shimmer.
